I’ve just completed the first release of the 4th revision of the Cleartext web site. There’s still a lot of tidying up to do and some additional functionality to go in, like a Blog and Wiki, but it’s looking good already.

I must say that after spending the whole weekend coming to grips with Ruby on Rails I’ve given up and am going back to my ‘teach myself of php’ plan. As a seasoned Object Pascal developer with an excellent grasp of modern langauge concepts this was not what I expected.

I’ve been looking at my blog thinking, this is looking very Web 1.0’ish. Probably because I’ve been reading a lot about Web 2.0 and spent a good part of the holiday setting up a Ruby on Rails development environment on my OSX G4.

Easter holidays..
Holidays are strange things, when you’re working for someone else you can’t wait for the next holiday. When you’re working for yourself a public holiday means a shorter working week and less time to get ‘stuff done’… I’ve negotiated with myself to take 3 of the 4 days over Easter off.
