‘Windows for the cloud’

The BBC have interviewed Ray Ozzie of Microsoft about their new ‘cloud’ service, now if Bill Gates had been sitting there a lot of people would have bought it, somehow Ray doesn’t pull it off. I must admit I lost interest when he started saying that Microsoft has built a lot of trust with users of Windows, hmm, “my computer has crashed”, “I need to reboot”, “I’ve got a virus infection”, “my PC needs a rebuild”…

There’s no doubt Microsoft did great things for the personal computer, Windows was a great innovation, somehow I think the past tense is appropriate. I think Bill saw the writing on the wall.
