A great insight from Michael Osterman on email uptime.

A good article from Ferris here stating that enterprises need to consider security and compliance when bringing social networking into the business;

I’ve been asked couple of times recently about Phorm, NebuAd and similar technologies, so here’re some links to get you started.
The following two transcripts of some Security Now episodes from Steve Gibson of GRC (Steve coined the phrase ’spyware’) give a good intro.

It’s good to see ScanSafe getting this award after the falling out with MessageLabs a few years back … Well done ScanSafe.
I tend to ignore Gartner, mainly because they’re always hyping something, often the same thing. Take IM for example, since Cleartext started out with IM in 1999 they’ve been saying there’s high growth in EIM over the horizon.
I suppose that’s true in a way, if you take them literally and we’re walking towards that horizon I suppose we never will get there
Back on topic now… It’s been obvious to us in the IT security space for years that as perimeter security improves the need for end point security diminishes (not), so the article on SC’s site was a breath of fresh air and I’m pleased Gartner now realise this…
Maybe their UK based Research VP should talk to the good people at the Jerico Forum before dribbling on about (Australian) security in enterprises in a thinly veiled advertorial.
Akonix sold out this week which leaves just FaceTime as the only significant independent IM security vendor, not sure if this is good news or bad for the enterprise IM market.
The article linked below should demonstrate a good enough reason to use an enterprise IM platform rather than public IM. Apart from the levels of ’security’ offered by each public IM network it’s fairly obvious from the embedded chart that your conversations may not be very private…
